There is a growing need for education and awareness-raising to inform the debate about how children use mobile phones.

Mobile operators need to adopt a consistently responsible approach in order to protect and support younger customers, whilst ensuring the mobile experience for young people is positive and enriching.

The GSMA leads several initiatives related to young people’s use of mobile services to:

  • drive industry-wide initiatives designed to protect young people using mobile services
  • promote the safe and rich use of mobile services for the benefit of young people
  • provide useful research documents and points of further information
  • provide a better understanding of how young people across the world use their mobile devices.
